I don't know how my cousin, Michelle manages to update her blog so often. Especially, since she has two kids and has her own business. Sure it's not a 9-5 kind thing but neither of her kids are school age yet. I don't even know how she thinks of anything to write about. I can never think of anything. Sure she doesn't regularly blog about world affairs or philosophize about the meaning of life or anything but still. I mean I suppose there are things I could write about, but I guess I always wonder, "Who would care?" That or I start to obsess too much about how something sounds and then I decide not to post it after all. I don't know, it just seems like a lot more trouble for me than for her.

Your Defense Mechanism is Isolation
When life gets to be too much to handle, you just withdraw. You rather not deal with things.
You tend to be a very isolated person. You want to connect to others, but you don't know where to start.

The problem with withdrawing from the world is that it's hard to reintegrate yourself when you're ready.
Instead of pulling back when you have problems, it would be better for you to reach out.

You Have the Fears of a Teenager
You are still finding your footing in the world, and a lot fear stems from your own insecurity.
You feel ready to be more independent and successful, but you're worried if you can really do it.

You fear failure, and you also fear humiliating yourself. The less confident you are, the more afraid you are.
Over time you are learning that everyone is afraid... you just have to act as if you're not!

If you could only eat one kind of cuisine—Mexican, Thai, French, Italian, Indian, Chinese, etc.—for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?
French. Especially if I adapted there eating habits as well. They have a much better since of nutrition than we do.

If a friend asked you for some new music recommendations, what would you suggest?
I plan on writing a longer entry about this later, because talking about music is just about my favorite thing in the world. Except for listening to it of course. But I'll keep it down to my top groups for this post. I would recommend The Dresden Dolls, Tom Waits, Eve 6, PJ Harvey and Patti Smith. I like groups that sound original and have lots of feeling in their music.

Have you ever considered converting to another religion?
I've considered changing religions a few times. Once when I was about 14, I considered converting to Catholicism. I was attracted to ceremonial elements and liked how all the catholic churches are supposed unified. It made me feel like I would be a part of something bigger than myself. Then for a while I considered Wicca but when I was reading about it and it seemed rather complicated. I decided that even if I did still want to convert one day I would probably have to study for a long time before making a full commitment. Most recently, I've considered Judaism, which so far, seems to be the one that coincides the most with my beliefs. But just like with Wicca, I think I would need to study it for a while before I really decided.

I think it would be something that I had never had but always wanted to try, like boulliabase or classy macaroni.

Describe your dream house (even if it's not a house).
I'd like to have house out in the country where I can have my privacy but also lots of space. I'd want a house that wasn't too big but big enough to have big family gatherings. Lots of bedrooms for guests, a large dining room and a big kitchen with lots of counterspace and a big pantry. It would also be nice to have a screened porch and a basement that could serve as a rec room. And a laundry room on the top floor so I wouldn't have to carry clothes up and down the stairs.
